  1. See number of unique URLs in the log file

    I need to see also a number of the unique URLs, that were visited in the time period. I can see the progress of how the cralwers get to know my site.

  3. When doing a Find (Ctrl+F), please remember the last Find criteria

    It seems silly that each time i want to do a Find, i have to check the checkbox (usually i use Request), and enter my text or criteria all over again. Please remember the last Find options used, so we can edit them or do the same find again. Thank you.

  4. Please make the Request Filter textbox longer

    Requests strings are usually long, and when i want to search for 30 characters or so, it's annoying having to type in that small textbox, especially when i paste something in, and want to edit it. Please expand that box, or better yet, allow it to expand when the app window expands. Thank you.

  5. Increase max Statistics from 100 to 1000, and add Sort option when viewing Stats

    Please increase max statistics from 100 to 1000 (or more). When doing statistics on requests, there are many variations of requests, and a limit of only the top 100, doesn't allow viewing many of the requests I'm interested in. Also, please add an option to sort by request, (instead of by count), when viewing statistics. This will save having to export to csv, then sort in Excel. Thank you!

  6. Allow users to save pre-formed filters, and..

    I use your tool a lot and it would be nice to have a way to edit filters using a layered approach. When applying a complex set of filters, it's really annoying to have to start from scratch instead of being able to remove a single rule, especially when you make a mistake or the results aren't what you expected.

    Also, we often run the same queries over and over - it would be nice to have a way of saving these, so I don't have to rebuild them every time.

  7. Batch-loading multiple files - apply the initial date/time filter to ALL the files instead of just the first one

    At the moment I can load a bunch of logfiles appended together in one tab (good!) - but there is a nuisance about that at the moment. What happens currently when I do that is that the first file in the selected list is filtered by the initial date/time filter, but none of the succeeding files in the batch are filtered by that.

    This means that I still have to spend time fiddling about with the date filter when I examine the combined display for those logfiles. And if I want to change any filtering at all, it appears that…

  8. Add export to image

    It would be great to have an export to (png) image or being able to copy report graphs directly as images to the clipboard.

  9. Save FTP connection data

    Keep the FTP connection data saved in the application, so that you don't have to enter all the data every time

  10. adding multiple log files in one open dialogue screen

    File | Open Multiple should allow selecting multiple files into separate tabs or append into one tab.

    Having to do File | Open "x" times to open multiple files is just time consuming and reduces productivity.

  11. Nice to have/bug fix: Use locale's date and time string formats to display on graphs

    Using reports and graphs, I see that date and time are formatted the US way on graphs (legend, X-axis, tooltip ...), though they are formatted according to my locale in log lines on main screen.
    Would be nice to have consistent behaviour throughout ALV.

  12. Combine loaded reports

    The product is great, but would love the option to be able to combine loaded reports into a single entity, with perhaps an extra column auto-added to show the report name when this option is chosen.

    It could make analytics easier when running several sites as you could then common problems far more easily.

    reports do not fit on the printed sheets . Could improve the print option , zooming to the graphics to fit on the sheet.

  14. Combine access and error logs for a threaded view.

    For error debugging. It would help to match up the call in access logs with the result in error logs.

    In this threaded view it would be helpful to keep all the same features for sorting, filtering, running reports and stats.

  15. let user enter logs directory rather than specific file names

    With live logviewing, it'd be nice to set the directory so we don't have to change file name daily.

    My host keeps its logs under a directory cunningly named /logs/, but stores each day as a file with a different name. For example today's (2 nov 2014) is called 141102.log

    This of course means that I have to enter a different logfile every day to livewatch

    same with errorfiles, they are error1log, error2log etc, so same issue as above.

    I think it'd be nice to be able to set the log directory and have the software look for…

  16. Add support for free IP2Location database

    IP2Location databases are more specific and provide more information for free compared to MaxMind. In addition to country/city, we can see states, zipcodes, even timezones.

    It would be nice if we could simply switch between databases in the preferences, just like how it is now.

  17. Add support for Tomcat (catalina and access logs)

    This is so close to what I need. I need the ability to filter, sort, etc. but on Apache Tomcat logs. Tomcat has both a catalina (error) log and an access log. Both logs have a standard field definition that can be configured similar to the Apache WS logs.

    Specifically I need to be able to quickly analyze a tomcat log and find errors and other warning info to diagnose problems. I know that this functionality is available in much more expensive log analyzers (e.g. Splunk) but I don't need all that power or expense.

  20. Overview / summary for reports and statistics

    It would be great to have a kind of overview/summary page for the reports and statistics, containing visits of the last 12 months, last 30 days, top 10 referrers/search terms/pages and so on.
    This way you could just throw in a bunch of log files and get a rough overview of what is going on with just a few clicks.
